1973 Lotus Elan +2 S130 Special Edition

The special edition +2 S130 Lotus Elan was introduced to celebrate Lotus’s 50th Grand Prix victory. Finished in black and gold to match the then sponsorship colours of JPS, hence commonly known as ‘The JPS’.

The +2 S130 benefited from a 5 speed Lotus gearbox and the big valve, higher compression version of Lotus’s twin-cam engine.

This stunning example is number 53 of 115 cars originally finished in black and gold and sold originally to Trophy Garage in September 1973.

The restoration of this +2 S130 was carried out using a replacement original style chassis, to retain the car’s authenticity.

The mechanical restoration was carried out by a renowned Lotus specialist, with all major components including the big valve Lotus twin-cam engine, differential and gearbox being rebuilt or replaced. The quality of the workmanship is underlined by how well this Elan runs and drives.

Offered for sale with MOT until June 2016 and a Lotus ‘Classic Certificate Of Vehicle Provenance’

This is a rare opportunity to purchase one of the few original ‘JPS’ S130 Elan +2 models and represents a great investment opportunity with the rising value of these sought after special editions.
